Before You Contact Us

Many common questions — how to set a home location, configure lightning alerts, read the radar look-back slider, or set up a tablet as a dedicated display — are already covered in the documentation. Checking there first often gets you an answer faster than waiting on a reply, especially for setup and usage questions.

Bug Reports

If something in RadarBug isn't working the way it should — a layer that won't load, a button that doesn't respond, or the map failing to display — email info@radarbug.app with a short description of what happened. Reports are most useful when they include:

  • What device and browser (or app version) you were using
  • What you expected to happen, and what happened instead
  • Whether the issue happens every time, or only sometimes
  • A screenshot, if the problem is visual

Data Accuracy Reports

RadarBug displays radar, alerts, hurricane tracking, lightning, and forecast data from NOAA, the National Weather Service, the National Hurricane Center, and other third-party providers — it does not generate this data itself. If a layer looks visibly wrong (for example, radar that appears frozen or clearly mismatched with official sources), let us know; it may point to an outage or format change on the provider's end that needs a fix on RadarBug's side to work around.

Radar and Feed Status

If the primary radar source is temporarily down, RadarBug shows a notice directly on the map rather than leaving it blank, and can fall back to a secondary radar source for the rest of your session. If you notice a radar or alert layer missing without any on-screen notice explaining why, that's worth reporting — it likely means an outage RadarBug hasn't yet detected and worked around.

Feature Requests

Suggestions for new weather layers, map controls, or platform support are welcome. We can't promise every idea will be built, but feedback from real usage directly shapes what gets prioritized. A short explanation of the situation you were trying to solve is often more useful than a specific implementation request, since it helps weigh a suggestion against everything else on the roadmap.

Press and Business Inquiries

For press, partnership, or business-related inquiries, use the same address, info@radarbug.app, with a short note on the nature of the inquiry in the subject line so it can be routed appropriately.

Response Time

RadarBug is maintained by a small team, so replies aren't instant, but every message is read. Straightforward bug reports and questions are typically the fastest to respond to; broader feature discussions may take longer. During major severe weather events, response times may be slower than usual as attention shifts toward keeping the service itself running reliably.

Privacy of Your Message

Information you send by email is used only to respond to your inquiry and to diagnose the issue you're reporting. See the Privacy Policy for how RadarBug handles data more broadly, including location, browser storage, and third-party services used by the app.

Security Reports

If you've found a security issue affecting RadarBug — something involving user data, authentication, or a way to disrupt the service for other users — please report it to info@radarbug.app rather than disclosing it publicly, and include enough detail to reproduce it. We take these reports seriously and will follow up directly.

Advertising

RadarBug is supported in part by advertising served through Google AdSense. Questions about an ad you saw on RadarBug, or about your ad personalization settings, can be sent to info@radarbug.app; personalization controls are also available directly through Google's ad settings, linked from the Privacy Choices control on the map.

Language Support

RadarBug's documentation is available in English, Spanish, and French. If you'd like to report a translation issue or request support for another language, mention it in your message and we'll take it into account for future updates.

Accessibility Feedback

If you use assistive technology and run into a part of RadarBug that's hard to use — unclear labeling, poor keyboard navigation, or low contrast — we want to know. Accessibility reports help prioritize fixes that make the map usable for more people, and are read with the same attention as bug reports.

What We Can't Help With

Because RadarBug displays, rather than issues, official weather alerts, we can't cancel, override, or provide clarification on a specific National Weather Service warning — those questions are best directed to your local NWS forecast office. Similarly, we can't provide real-time meteorological consultation or emergency response; in an emergency, always contact local authorities directly rather than RadarBug support. See the Terms & Disclaimer page for the full scope of what RadarBug is, and isn't, intended to be used for.
