Terms & Disclaimer

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using RadarBug, whether through the website at radarbug.app or a RadarBug mobile app, you agree to these Terms & Disclaimer. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use RadarBug.

Situational awareness tool only

RadarBug is intended to help users monitor weather risk and storm movement. It should be used as a situational awareness tool, not a substitute for official emergency alerts, local weather forecasts, or emergency guidance. Always follow local warnings and emergency instructions issued by authorities.

Description of Service

RadarBug displays weather radar, lightning activity, National Weather Service alerts, National Hurricane Center tropical weather tracking, rainfall observations, and local forecasts on an interactive map. RadarBug does not generate, forecast, or issue any of this data itself — it retrieves and visualizes information published by NOAA, the National Weather Service, the National Hurricane Center, Iowa State Mesonet, Open-Meteo, RainViewer, Blitzortung, and Google Maps Platform. The availability, timing, and accuracy of every layer on the map depends on these outside providers and is outside RadarBug's control.

Permitted Use

You may use RadarBug for personal, non-commercial weather monitoring. You agree not to attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with RadarBug's servers or the third-party services it depends on; not to scrape, republish, or resell data displayed by RadarBug in bulk; and not to use RadarBug in any way that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law. This includes automated tools that query RadarBug or the services it relies on at a rate a normal person browsing the map would not.

Third-Party Data and Services

RadarBug relies on multiple third-party data providers and platforms, including Google Maps Platform for the interactive base map. Each provider sets its own terms, availability, and accuracy standards, and RadarBug has no control over interruptions, delays, formatting changes, or errors originating from those services. A weather layer that looks delayed, incomplete, or temporarily unavailable most often reflects an issue with the underlying provider rather than with RadarBug itself.

Disclaimer

RadarBug is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Weather data is sourced from NOAA/NWS and other third parties and may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, or entirely unavailable at any time. We are not liable for any damages, loss, or injury resulting from use of, or reliance on, this app or its data.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RadarBug LLC and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of property, data, or life, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, RadarBug, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. This includes, without limitation, damages resulting from missed, delayed, or inaccurate weather alerts, radar data, or hurricane tracking information.

Intellectual Property

The RadarBug name, logo, and the design and organization of the RadarBug website and apps are the property of RadarBug LLC. Underlying weather data remains the property of its respective providers (NOAA, NWS, NHC, and others) and is subject to their own usage terms where applicable. RadarBug's own interface design, layer combinations, and app code may not be copied, reverse-engineered for redistribution, or repackaged as a competing product without permission.

Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time as RadarBug's features, data sources, or legal requirements change. Continued use of RadarBug after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date above.

Eligibility

RadarBug is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children. If you are under the age required to form a binding agreement in your jurisdiction, you should use RadarBug only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian.

Termination and Availability

Access to RadarBug's website and apps may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time, in whole or in part, without prior notice — for maintenance, changes to data providers, or any other reason. We are not liable for any consequences of RadarBug being temporarily or permanently unavailable.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions, to the extent consistent with the law of your jurisdiction of residence.
